چکیده

The requirement to boost the resolution of nanopore-based biosequencing devices necessitates integration novel biosensing techniques with reduced sensitivity background noise. In this article, we probe signatures translocating polymers in magnetic fields induced by ionic currents through membrane nanopores. Within framework a previously introduced charge transport theory, evaluate field signals generated voltage- and pressure-driven DNA translocation events monovalent salt solutions. Our formalism reveals that voltage-driven transport, polymer suppresses via steric blockage ion current mid-pore. case reduction originates from negative electrokinetic contribution anionic surface charges streaming predominantly composed cations. magnitude corresponding is located nano-Tesla range covered magnetoelectric sensors able detect down pico-Tesla range. This suggests detection into approaches can complement efficiently conventional strategies employing readouts high susceptibility

Sensing Magnetic Fields with Magnetosensitive Ion Channels

[-15]Magnetic nanoparticles are met across many biological species ranging from magnetosensitive bacteria, fishes, bees, bats, rats, birds, to humans. They can be both of biogenetic origin and due to environmental contamination, being either in paramagnetic or ferromagnetic state. The energy of such naturally occurring single-domain magnetic nanoparticles can reach up to 10-20 room k B T in the...

Stimuli-Responsive Polymers and Colloids under Electric and Magnetic Fields

Electrorheological (ER) and magnetorheological (MR) suspensions undergo a reverse phase transition from a liquid-like to solid-like state in response to an external electric or magnetic field, respectively. This paper briefly reviews various types of electroor magneto-responsive materials from either polymeric or inorganic and hybrid composite materials. The fabrication strategies for ER/MR can...

Remote sensing of chromospheric magnetic fields via the Hanle and Zeeman effects

— The only way to obtain reliable empirical information on the intensity and topology of the weak magnetic fields of the “quiet” solar chromosphere is via the measurement and rigorous physical interpretation of polarization signals in chromospheric spectral lines. The observed Stokes profiles reported here are due to the Hanle and Zeeman effects operating in a weakly magnetized plasma that is i...

Nonlocal Vibration of Embedded Coupled CNTs Conveying Fluid Under Thermo-Magnetic Fields Via Ritz Method

In this work, nonlocal vibration of double of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) system conveying fluid coupled by visco-Pasternak medium is carried out based on nonlocal elasticity theory where CNTs are placed in uniform temperature change and magnetic field. Considering Euler-Bernoulli beam (EBB) model and Knudsen number, the governing equations of motion are discretized and Ritz method is applied to ob...

Conduction and Electrostriction of Polymers Induced by High Electric Fields

After reviewing the new physics and chemistry in high electrostatic fields we use density functional theory to show that in fields around 1.5 V/Å the bandgap of polythiophene reduces to zero leading to field-induced metallization. In poly(ethylene glycol), on the other hand, such fields lead to giant electrostriction of over 20% in length. Lastly, we give two examples of field-induced polymeriz...
